Join us for this one-of-a-kind presentation at the Ampitheater on the McKenzie Preserve for an afternoon of learning all about the Animals you can find on our Preserves! We have local experts Cat Kroschell will highlight Birds of Prey, Guy Cisneros presenting about reptiles, and Burleigh Lockwood, bat expert. You won’t want to miss out on this amazing experience!
Gates open at 2:30 PM, allow time for a short hike to the amphitheater and the presentation will start at 3 PM. We plan to be done just after sunset, it’s going to be a beautiful season out on the Preserve – be sure to register early as space is limited. Please bring a flashlight, and wear walking shoes. SFC Staff and docents will light the way back to the parking lot as well.
Cost for this special event is $20 per individual participant. We are actively seeking sponsorships for this event – please consider becoming a sponsor, then all participation fees will be dedicated to the stewardship work on SFC preserves! See registration form for details.

Register early as spots are limited.
- You must be registered for the event to attend, we cannot accommodate walk-ons without advance notice or permission from SFC. Please ensure your registration information is accurate, we use both email and phone numbers to update participants to any hike changes or cancellations.
- Participants are to stay with the group and are not allowed to leave early or wander away from the designated hike. If you need more flexibility, please consider visiting our Preserves during one of our Open Preserve Days. See the Events Calendar for dates. Though the gate will remain locked during the event, we ask that you please not leave anything valuable in your vehicle.
- No Dogs are allowed on our Preserves with the exception of documented Service Animals. Please see our Visiting the Preserves page for more detailed information!
- Our Events are RAIN or SHINE – Sierra Foothill Conservancy regards the safety of our participants on our Preserves very highly so in the case of severe weather or the possibility of adverse impact on the land or the hike experience we reserve the right to cancel.
- One of the conditions of your participation does specifically release Sierra Foothill Conservancy, hold harmless as the owners of the property, and any of its employees or agents representing or related to hikes, classes, or projects offered by Sierra Foothill Conservancy while on the Property from any claims or liabilities of any kind whatsoever, arising from or related to my participation in these activities. - You also agree to grant to Sierra Foothill Conservancy and its authorized representatives permission to record on photography film and/or video, pictures of my participation. You further agree that any or all of the material photographed may be used, in any form, as part of any future publications, brochure, or other printed materials used to promote Sierra Foothill Conservancy, and further that such use shall be without payment of fees, royalties, special credit or other compensation.
