Join SFC and REI for a day on the McKenzie!  Our Annual Member and Volunteer Appreciation BBQ will be held Saturday October 27, 2018 on the beautiful McKenzie Preserve. Gates open at 9 AM for free hiking with the BBQ ready to be served around 12:30 PM.

Generously sponsored by REI, they’ll be on site offering classes and a trail mix bar!

Enjoy Nature Journaling with Christann Roy, a hike to the tabletop mountain or a picnic under a majestic oak tree and you won’t want to miss the Birds of Prey presentation by Cat Krosschel.

Schedule:

Open Preserve 9 AM to 4 PM – hike on your own from the Discovery Trail to the Table Top – guides and maps will be available

Nature Journaling from 11 AM to 1 PM

Birds of Prey at 1:30 PM

Enjoy REI’s signature Trail Mix Bar ALL DAY!

Members and Guests can contribute $10 per meal which include your choice of Tri-Tip, Chicken or a grilled Portobello Mushroom, salad, roll, dessert and drink. Docents are invited to participate as our guests, but please register so we ensure we have enough food for everyone.

Any contributions will go directly to the McKenzie Preserve Restoration Fund. Celebrating the 20th year of SFC’s acquisition of this legacy landscape, we have created a campaign to help fund many long needed projects on the Preserve. Help give back to the Preserve that has given our community so much!

Be sure to bring the family and enjoy the fall weather.
